Action Items/Fundraising Efforts
A. Approval of Minutes:  Coopman moved, Wicihowski seconded to approve the Fundraising Committee minutes from February 9, 2016.  Motion carried unanimously.

B. Chili Cook-Off:
     • The chili cook-off on February 28 netted $3,613.43 compared to $3,686.04 in 2014.  We sold more tables and individual tickets in 2014.  In 2016, we had more silent auction items, our expenses were less and we sold individual containers of the leftover chili. The music of Russ Reiser was a good addition.
     • The goal of the Fundraising Committee is to hold one fundraising event per year.  Should we hold another chili cook-off next year?  People who attend enjoy the event.  It brings the community together in support of the library.  For the amount of money we make, it is time- consuming and a lot of work for a limited number of people.
     • At the next Board of Trustees meeting, the committee would like to ask if they are willing to help in some way or should we do something else.
     • Other ideas included:  adding a cake walk to the chili cook-off, an adult spelling bee, a bean bag toss for families and a chili cook-off among the local community firefighters.
     • At a trustee workshop that Crawmer and Wicihowski attended, they suggested cultivating donors.
     • The library’s Friends will make about $4,200 from the spring used book sale.
     • Committee members are asked to come up with ideas for fundraising events.
     • Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 24, at 1:00pm.

Adjournment
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:32pm was made by Wicihowski and seconded by Coopman.   Motion carried unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Dreyer, recording secretary
