FINANCE & INVESTMENTS COMMITTEE
ELISHA D. SMITH PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
September 26, 2018
Called to order at 3:31pm by Chair Golz
Present: Chair Golz, Englebert, Lane, and VanderHeyden
Also Present: Trustee Schwerbel, Director Lenz and K. Dreyer (Business Manager)
Public Comment/Communication:
John Jacobs, City of Menasha Director of Administrative Services, thinks the 2019 insurance estimate was calculated incorrectly. He will be attending the Board of Trustees meeting at 4:00pm today.
Approval of Minutes
Motion made by Englebert, seconded by VanderHeyden to approve the Investment Committee meeting minutes from August 16, 2018. Motion carried.
2019 Library Budget
The 2019 Budget Draft includes:
· Step increases, a 2% cost of living increase and an increase to 37.5 hours per week for full time employees
· Funds for the WALS Technology account for computers, etc.
· Library cards
· Marketing budget
· Office chairs and public seating re-upholstery
After re-calculating the health insurance, the 2019 budget reflects a flat to minimal increase.
Motion made by Englebert, seconded by ValderHeyden to approve the 2019 budget as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 3:53pm was made by Englebert and seconded by Golz. Motion carried unanimously.
