Discussion/Action Items
The purpose of today’s meeting is to meet with Alex Ramsey since Engberg Anderson Architects have recently worked on improvements at several Wisconsin libraries, including Neenah.
The committee introduced themselves to Ramsey, took a tour of the library, and discussed the charge of the committee. Ramsey talked about her firm and the process. She proposes to look at the library’s functionality, flexibility, and the make-up of its resources. What does the library of the future and living room of our community look like? What do we need? What do we have? And how to bridge the gap?
Each architectural firm invited during the rest of this year will be asked to provide a cost to service proposal, cost estimates, references, and a scope of their services in order to provide an apples to apples comparison.
The committee would like to tour some of the firms’ completed projects.
The committee will next meet with Wes Reynolds of OPN on Friday, November 15, at 1:00 at the library.
Margaret Sullivan, Margaret Sullivan Studio, LLC, will visit Appleton on December 9 and 10. The committee will meet with her, John Bergstrom, and Kathy Seifert on December 9 at the offices of Franzoi & Franzoi. Committee members will convene at 9:00am.
Adjournment
Golz moved to adjourn, seconded by Franzoi at 10:47am. The motion was unanimously approved.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Dreyer, recording secretary
