The purpose of today’s meeting is to meet with Margaret Sullivan, Margaret Sullivan Studio, who will begin to conduct a discovery/ fact-finding visit for the Elisha D. Smith Public Library.  During her visit, she will identify key needs, key goals, and an understanding of the scope of the project to determine what the library of the future should look like.  The project goal will be to develop a scope and work plan to vision and program the existing library to be activated for the library’s strategic goals and desired community outcomes.  The project will introduce
human-centered design strategies and experience design principles as a vehicle for learning, social cohesion and community advancement. A responsible budget will be developed to reach these goals.

The conceptual process will take about 4 months.  Margaret will prepare a conceptual design and then refine/develop service strategy and approach.
